MAGNUM SINGLE SHOT BOLT ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 308 Norma Mag. S# 29454. Bbl. 29". Model 30S Express bolt action rifle mfg. by Remington and later converted into a custom sporting configuration with a .308 Norma Magnum bbl. Left side of the bbl. is marked "W.W. OLSON", with the cal. designation "308 MAG" marked towards the breech. Left side of the receiver is marked with the model designation and S#, with the Remington trademark logo marked on the right. Receiver exhibits a standard blue finish, with the bolt assembly having been cleaned and polished in-the-white. Custom bbl. exhibits a polished blue finish. Trigger guard exhibits a reapplied blue finish. 1-piece custom wood pistol grip stock features a steel hand stop rail on the underside of the forearm, with an elongated cheek piece on the left side of the buttstock, a thumb rest on the right side of the buttstock, and a textured black rubber Pachmayr White Line recoil pad. Interior of mag. well is filled with a plain wood block. Lyman 77H globe front sight and Lyman adj. aperture rear sight. Rear half of bbl. features 2 sight mount bases (x1 case colored, x1 blued). CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their blue finishes, exhibiting some superficial handling marks and some small scattered spots of light surface oxidation overall. Bolt exhibits scattered spots of light pitting and age related discoloration. Mirror bore, exhibiting some scattered spots of light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Stock shows some superficial marks from handling and storage, with a crack on the right side of the butt stemming from the recoil pad, and a chip to the rear of the upper receiver tang, but otherwise remains sound.
